Publications

Apart from its research projects, the Institute of Literary Studies has been recognized for its long and productive publishing activities. The Institute’s publications are actively used both in teaching as well as in the research process. Numerous titles were awarded with prestigious state awards. Publications are divided into several groups:

  1. The series Enciklopedija hrvatske književnosti consists of two editions: 100 stvaralaca hrvatske književnosti (18 titles) and Kritički portreti hrvatskih slavista (9 titles). In this series renowned Croatian scholars valorized and critically assessed literary and scholarly work done by prominent Croatian authors and Slavists.
  2. Biblioteka L is a recognized label of the Institute of Literary Studies. The first series, published in coordination with the publishing house Liber, consists of 30 titles, out of which almost a third were awarded with prestigious state awards, such as the „Božidar Adžija“ Award (J. Badalić: Rusko-hrvatske književne studije, M. Šicel: Programi i manifesti u hrvatskoj književnosti, R. Filipović: Englesko-hrvatske književne veze, M. Solar: Ideja i priča; B. Vuletić: Fonetika književnosti, A. Flaker: Stilske formacije), “Vladimir Nazor” Award (S. Lasić: Sukob na književnoj ljevici, S. Petrović: Priroda kritike),the Award of Central Croatian Cultural and Publishing Society (Matica hrvatska) (S. Lasić: Sukob na književnoj ljevici) i and the Award of the City of Zagreb (V. Žmegač: Književno stvaralaštvo i povijest društva). The second series consisting of 23 titles was published in an independent edition of the Institute of Literary Studies and focuses on studies by Croatian scholars on different topics pertinent to Croatian humanities in the past two decades.
  3. The series Anthologies consists of 16 titles and covers a wide variety of topics analyzed from different methodological standpoints by both Croatian as well as international scholars. Central to this series is the publication Pojmovnici ruske avangarde (9 titles), edited by Aleksandar Flaker and Dubravka Ugrešić.
